A/N: It's been a long while since I'd attempted these. Life just got in the way for a few months. :/
But, I'm finally back to writing these again, which are super fun to be honest. So, this is exactly 300 words on the dot. Thought I'd make a longer drabble since I haven't been writing these for a while :)
Word of the week : Key.
**WARNING** There are spoilers for season 9, especially recent episodes. (Mainly 9x13 - "The Purge.") So if you haven't caught up, I suggest waiting to read this until you watch the episode.
Thanks for the never-ending support as always. :)
Alcohol. The one solution to Dean Winchesters' problems. Sometimes he'd promise himself he'd stop drinking…for Sam's sake, but right now, the burn of the drink through his system gave him the energy to bury down the pain, the anguish that was tearing him to pieces.
Sam, his brother. A brother that wanted to be partners. A brother that told him that he'd rather let him die than save him. A brother that was pissing Dean off to be honest.
But then again, who could blame Sam? Dean knew that Sam wouldn't give in easily, that'd he'd be stubborn in forgiving him. To be honest, Dean didn't think he deserved the forgiveness…so why was this hurting him so much?
Maybe because he was losing his brother.
Maybe because all he had was Sam.
Maybe because Sam was his world.
And his world was shaking, with weak foundations of trust.
Dean wasn't one for praying. He never believed in that stuff. And especially since Heaven was on lockdown. But today? Today he wanted to pray.
He wanted to pray to be back with his brother again, like old times.
He wanted to pray for a key.
One that would unlock the lock between them both, that would bring them back together again.
Dean took another swig as thoughts swirled around his head. He wanted to make it up to his brother. He really did. He wanted to end this fight drifting them apart, because nothing good was going to come out of it. He just didn't know how.
So he drank. Drank himself into oblivion as he passed out right there on the kitchen table.
Unknowing that he'd been saying this out loud in his drunken state, that Sam had been listening to every word.
Unknowing that Sam wanted the same thing.
END.
Hope you all liked it. Season 9 has been giving me a lot of feels.
