A/N: One of my few fics in which things actually happen. I'm more a fan of angsty musings.
Summary: Has Kyouya ever been lost for words? No real pairing…Haruhi x Kyouya – ish I guess.
Disclaimer: When Kyouya found out about that I made him obsessed with stodgy romance novels he got angry and now Bisco Hatori owns Ouran High School Host Club. And probably always will. sighsDUMBSTRUCK
Kyouya sat down and started to read 'How Bob and Cindy Fell in Love'. Despite his cool personality, he had a secret shoujo manga and romance novel fetish. Perhaps it was because Tamaki had woken him up at 5am in the morning to ask Kyouya when Haruhi's birthday was and whether he thought that she would like to get a hot springs holiday, or maybe it was just because he was too involved in the story of Bob and Cindy, but he didn't hear the door to the third music practice room open. Neither did he hear the footsteps of a certain androgynous girl approaching him and stopping in front of the desk where he was reading.
'Kyouya-senpai. I didn't know you read that stuff!' exclaimed Haruhi.
Kyouya, for once surprised, raised his head quickly.
'I don't enjoy these novels. I read them because I need to know what sort of things the clientele are interested in. I saw a few of the clients reading this book and I thought that I could find a few ideas for the host club in here,' stated Kyouya.
The shadow-king went back to reading his romance novel. He was up to the part where Bob finally told Cindy that he loved her.
Haruhi walked to the couch where the twins would usually sit during the meetings. She poked around under the cushions and finally found what she was looking for: her maths homework. Hikaru had stolen it yesterday when Haruhi had gone to get tea.
Holding her notebook, Haruhi walked back to the entrance of the third music room.
'You know the sequel to that book is pretty good too,' said Haruhi as she was about to exit.
Haruhi had seen through his excuse. For one of the first times in his life, Kyouya was dumbstruck.
End.
A/N: That wasn't too painful or hard to understand now was it? Now you can review or flame if you want to. If you want a reply you should probably insult me, I'm more likely to talk to you if I'm angry. OK so what if Kyouya exhibited signs of totally OOCness. I still liked it. Well…kind of... runs away
