"So, what do you think about cats?" she asked, looking over the newspaper she was reading.
"I-I don't really like them," he went back to reading his book.
"How can you say that?" she placed the paper down and met his gaze. Instead of wondering why she was asking him this, he focused on the question.
"Because of my ex-girlfriend. She had this annoying cat, the damn thing would follow me everywhere and scratch me. Finally I got so tired of the bastard, I pushed the refrigerator door on him."
Her mouth dropped, "no! You would never do that!" She looked closer at him, "oh my god! You slammed a door on an innocent animal!" She rolled the paper and started to beat Jess, both were laughing as he grabber her by the waist and sat her on top of him.
"Why do you even care? You know I am not really an animal person."
She feigned shock, "you are only allowed to dislike reptiles, insects, and fish only!"
"All the things you hate," he interrupted, placing his lips on her neck. "What is the real reason behind me liking or not liking cats?"
She placed her hand on his black hair, "I was thinking how quiet it was around here, and a dog would be too loud, but a little kitten's meow would be perfect."
"Too quiet?" Jess lifted his head. "We can always change that." He whispered in her ear before turning them over, so he was now on top. "Still quiet?"
"Not as much," she said in between the kisses. "But the thing is, I would like a cat more than you."
He smirked,"now you're in for it." He moved his fingers under her shirt, knowing all of the places to tickler her.
She screamed and tried to slap his hands away, but with no avail. "Please, stop." Small tears were in the corners of her eyes.
"You're a jerk," she said smiling.
"And you married me, what does that say about you?" he leaned down to her, and moved his hands down.
"I must be crazy."
Jess leaned down, as if to whisper, to her ear, "meow."
Rory pushed his chest away from hers, still straddled underneath him."You are so weird."
"And you know what?" his brown eyes meeting hers. Rory shook her head. "You're obsessed with me," he smiled cheekily and got off of her.
"I am not obsessed, annoyed on the other hand--" she dragged off.
"I love you too." In one swift motion, Jess grabbed his book Rory was sitting on and walked into their bedroom.
'That's not fair!"she called after him, "you can't just walk away! We still have to discuss this!"
Jess's head appeared from their room, "what was that? I couldn't hear you because of the noise."
Rory smiled, "Jess."
"Meow? That's all I am hearing."
"Je--"
"Meow."
"Je--"
"Meow?" Rory rolled her eyes and walked over to him, wrapping her arms around him.
"We still have to talk about this whole ex-girlfriend thing. You know I am the only girlfriend you had."
"Mhmm," he kissed her, "if that's what you have to tell yourself." Jess spun around before Rory could playfully slap him.
"You, Jess Mariano, are mean."
"And you, Rory Mariano, are crazy." Jess pulled Rory closer to him.
"You sure know how to impress the ladies."
"That's what my last wife said."
"Oh!" Rory acted shock, "you have an ex wife now? What happened to her?"
"Nothing that can be proven." Jess closed the gap still between them, "I heard it was something to do with cats."
