This fanfic's sorta... strange. It's meant to be at a night setting, but I wrote this during the day, so some of the emotions didn't come out the best. I tried my hardest. It's another EdxWinry oneshot. I hope you like it and if you do, care to review?
Winry stared out her window, looking at the beautiful starry night. The stars were scattered over the dark sky while the moon shone brightly; casting a shadow on the trees. All was silent and all was still. All the day creatures were fast asleep, only the owl hooted, and the cricket chirped. The world was in a peaceful slumber. The dark sky was the soft and cozy blanket while the moon provided the additional light for the weary creatures.
Winry sighed to herself. What a beautiful night! I wish I could lay under the stars… with… Ed. She found herself in sniffles. Looking over at her dresser she stared at his picture. How she missed him so. She walked over and took the picture off the shelf. She hugged it tightly. Oh Edward, where are you?
Once again she returned to her seat beside the window. I wonder if he's looking at the stars too? Winry found herself wishing on the stars. She hasn't done that since she was 8. That was to wish for a good mark on a test, or maybe a wrench she really wanted for her birthday. This time it was wishing for something else. This time it was different. This time it was important. She was wishing for Edward Elric.

Hm… I haven't wished for a long time… but I still remember how to. I'd never forget.
I wish that wherever Ed is, that he is happy and safe. I wish that he could come back home… to me. I wish that we could spend a night together under the stars.

Edward Elric awoke from his dream. He was dreaming of her… again.. Who else? He dreamt that he saw her again. He dreamt that she loved him. He dreamt that they were together. He looked at the sky. The beautiful starry night. Winry? He found himself in tears. Then he realized he loved her. He loved her with all his heart. Ah I'm getting all mushy over this romantic stuff. He mentally cursed himself. Must be going crazy…Oh that Colonel what's-his-face would never let him hear the end of it. But hey, who cares what that crazy man though? As long as he had his Winry. "Dammit," he said, punching his pillow.
Once again he turned to the stars. It was if they gave him comfort. He saw her face. Were the heavens teasing him? Were they trying to remind him of what he left behing? And damn… it was working.
"Ed… don't worry, believe in our fate…"
"Winry?" he spoke out to the sky, "Is that you?". I must be losing it Ed thought.
"Winry…. Will you wait for me?"
"I will Ed… I will…"
Maybe there were such things as happily ever afters. Whether they came to him, or he had to go to them. He was determined that his story would end with one.
