Prompt word is justice

Rating: T

Enjoy

They walked with their head held high. They let the villagers shout crude and vulgar names at them, not even blinking as a woman steps out of the crowd and spits at them. You uproot a tree in your anger. 'How dare they do this to them? How dare they not them grow up and rob them of a childhood?' You think. The boy, Alec, rubs the spit off of his sister's face and mumbles some words to her. You are too far away to hear. You want to act now, but the rational side of you will not permit it. You must wait for the opportune moment. The priest stands on the make shift stage as he proclaims how fair and just God is. You snort to yourself; 'Justice' is what they call it 'an abomination' is what you say. Could they not see the potential these young ones have? How, how could they not see that? It is more proof of the ignorance of humans. You marvel at their courage, they stand there bound on a wooden pole, while their family and friends jeer at them and yet they have not cried once during this entire affair.

"- served justice at the Second Coming and May God have pity on your souls," the priest nods to the executioner. That is your cue.

Grey cloaks swarm the square. Screams erupt from all sides. You only see red as you tear through the crowd, ripping off limbs as you go. Your teeth grit together as you force yourself not to take a bite at them. In the end the not a man, woman, and child was left. They were all slaughtered. Their blood still covers your hands as you lick your fingers and smile to yourself.

Justice at last.
