Lizzie McDonald sat on her bed, barely able to suppress a strange giddiness that currently imbibed her very soul. Nora, George, Casey, Derek, and Marti were leaving for whatever they had to do, and would be gone for the entire day. The house would then be empty except for the middle siblings. Lizzie didn't mind, though, because today, she wanted to be alone – with him, that is.

Edwin Venturi, her partner in crime, had an amazing talent, and none but she knew about it, for it was only to her did he share his special gift. Every time he presented it to her, he left her utterly breathless, and every time, she wanted even more.

Lizzie waited anxiously, falling back onto her bed with a sigh.

On the stairs to his attic room, Edwin Venturi, was too waiting for the 'rents to leave. He sat, impatiently watching the coming and going of the house. Derek was heading out for his hockey game while Casey getting ready for her date with whomever she was with now – Edwin didn't really care at the moment. Finally he glanced at Marti playing a board game with her friend Daphne. Ed sighed.

In a few minutes the house will be deserted except for him and his beloved. He couldn't wait to perform his special thing again. He always performed with great passion because he knew she loved it immensely. Both Derek and Casey exited their bedrooms and went down the stairs. George came up to pick Marti up and led her downstairs. Edwin came down from his room and leaned against the rail. He watch intently as George, Nora, Derek, Casey, and Marti file out. When the door slammed shut, a very Venturi-esque smirked appeared on the young boys face.

"Show time!"

Lizzie lay on the bed. As soon as she heard the door close and silence enveloping the whole house, and she giggled in rapt excitement. She waited some more, barely able to tolerate the excruciating lack of sound.

Then she heard it!

She squealed in silent ecstasy as it grew to a steady mezzo-forte. Then it dropped to a pianissimo, and Lizzie knew that he was right in front her very room. Then the door creaked open a and in stepped Edwin, holding a note on his violin.
