There was a little girl. She was 3 years old with blonde pigtails and brown eyes like her mother. She was running around in the garden while her mother was sitting down, smiling at how her angel was going to have a normal life with no threats and fear.
But that all changed…
Just as the little girl was chasing after a butterfly, she bumped into a tall man with chocolate brown hair and green eyes. He was dressed in a uniform, like a prince. Her mother's eyes widened in surprise from the sight of the man.
She ran over to where her daughter and the strange man was. Her mother carried her child into her arms, giving a serious gaze at the man. "What brings you here?"
He bowed at the woman, "I have news about him."
Her serious gaze then changed to worried ones. "It can't be… You didn't kill him, did you?"
The man had no change of expression as he glanced at the little girl that was in the arms of her mother. "It would be best if I told you without her knowing." She looked at her child, the child looking at her too in confusion.
"Loki." Magically, a man with light brown hair appeared by her side. "Take her inside, please." She handed her daughter over to the man as he bowed lightly and smiled at her. "Let's go inside and play, ok?"
From the window, she saw her mother on her knees. Her hands were covering her face as the man bent down to the same level as her. He placed a hand on her shoulder but she swatted his hand away. She could see the tears flowing from her mother's face.
Looking up, she could see the man that brought her in with his arms crossed. He had that serious gaze in his eyes but she brought her gaze back to her mother and the man walking away.
"Mommy, when is Daddy coming home?"
Her mother smiled at her but she could see that wasn't her mother's usual smile. She was sad.
"Daddy's going to be back soon."
"Really?" A smile appeared.
Her mother could only pull her into a hug. "We'll wait… And wait… And wait…"
BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP
She groaned as her hand tried to reach for the noise. She finally found the alarm clock but instead of turning it off, she knocked it off the bedside table. The sound of the clock breaking finally made her open her eyes. The green eyes that stared at the ceiling.
"I'll wait… And wait… And wait…"
She raised her left arm up, her fingers stretched slightly.
