Dean sat in the sand, watching as the ocean's waves lapped at his ankles. He closed his eyes, listening to the soft roaring around him. After a couple of minutes of tranquility, he felt a gentle thump on top of his head. Smiling, he tipped his head back, looking up; Luna grinned down at him.

"Lovely day for our daughter to be born," she commented merrily.

"Yeah it would be," Dean agreed. "But our son can wait; there's no rush."

"Speak for yourself; we're ready." She patted her swollen belly.

He chuckled and pulled her hand over his shoulder, kissing her fingers.

"Can't imagine life without you," he whispered.

She laid her cheek on his hair and sighed. "We'll have to leave for St. Mungo's soon, but we have a few more minutes to enjoy the ocean first."

"Wait. What?" He looked up at her again, slightly panicked. "Are you serious? Is...is the baby coming?"

"Oh my, yes," Luna confirmed with a nod, but didn't move or seem to be in any rush.

"Are there...Are you having contractions?" Dean asked, looking for solid facts, knowing that sometimes his wife's beliefs had little use for such things.

"Of course; have been for most of the morning. Did you think I was just making those faces for fun?"

"Err..." As a matter of fact, he had.

Her smile turned to a grimace as she went slightly cross-eyed. A moment later, her smile returned.

"That was a contraction, in case you thought it was just another silly face. We really should get apparating though."

"Now? You're sure?" He turned around on his knees to face her.

"I rather think so; that my water you're sitting in, not the ocean."

"Huh?" He looked down and saw he was kneeling in wet sand despite the fact that the tide had receded and no longer reached them. "Oh. Oh! Get up! Let's go! We have to hurry! I'm gonna be a dad!" He froze in place where he had jumped up in excitement. "I'm going to be a dad."

"Rather soon, I think." Luna held her belly as another contraction hit, leaving her a little breathless.

"Right. Up you get." He helped her to her feet. "I'll get us there." He closed his eyes, preparing to apparate.

"Dean, wait! First, there's something important I have to ask you."

"Anything," he pledged, love in his eyes.

She tilted her head back. "Do you see anything in my nose?"

The End.

A/N: Before you ask, Luna was right of course, it was a girl.
