-I don't own death note or anything by Clement Clarke Moore

-I know it's not near Christmas, but when you're sweating in the midst of summer you can read this and feel cooler.

-I refer to Raito as Light only once for rhyme. You'll see it. Since it's a name so I capitalized it. Every other time I call him Raito though.

-The line breaks got messed up. For some reason it's not working right. . But mainly every stanza has four lines except for L's song, and the last two lines which are a stanza by themselves.

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Raito was not stirring, not even his pet mouse.
The stockings were hung on Ryuk with care,
in hopes that Kira soon would be there.

The criminals were shaking with fear from Light,
But Kira was taking a break from killing tonight.
He's waiting for Santa to say he's a good boy
because the Death Note made peace and gave everyone joy.

When out on the roof there arose such a clatter,
Raito sprang from his bed to see what was the matter.
And there was little L, awake and pleased.
He entered the house so he didn't as much freeze.

In his hand he held a small gift

With its petite round shape Raito wondered: "What is it?"
When what to his wondering eyes should appear,
A little round apple for Ryuk. That was quite queer.

L saw Raito's frown. Probably jealousy
But he should be happy, for tonight L had free.

He decided to be nice and please Raito by song
So he sang a tune with the pitches all wrong.

"Now Raito! Now Ryuk!
It's Christmas time here!
We should have invited

Mello and Near!
So let's give them a ring
but first we must buy
chocolate and a train toy

for our two guys!"

Sure it was snowing, late and cold
but this didn't stop L from thinking too bold.
So up to the store the three did run
thinking that tonight would be rather fun.

In that store, they bought a toy train
It was big and heavy- at least it would please Near's games.
Next they had to find chocolate and fast!
So they found the gourmet chocolate store at last.

They packed them in bags and brought them home
it was L next who picked up the phone.
And with this he started speaking to Mello and Near
inviting them to come join the three right here.

The two arrived on time together at the scene,
with Near's hair dyed red, and Mello's green.
They were excited as teenage girls at a party
they were being very jolly, and so greatly hearty.

And while L laughed along at Mello's little jokes
he didn't realize Raito's little hoax.
The death note was hidden away somewhere
Just in case he had to kill them there.

But Raito soon found he didn't need to use it that night
For he got quite drunk, and woke up intertwined
In L's legs on the bed upstairs
He could recall all the fan girls saying they'd make a good pair.

L looked at Raito and smiled very weird

And he couldn't help but glance down, giving Raito one more peer.
As he spoke he pulled something out of his pocket
and handed it to Raito- 'twas a small locket.

"This is for us so we'll remember tonight,
and we'll dream our dreams that always seem right.

And if I die, I hope I won't be missed."

So with that he leaned down and gave Raito one more kiss.

It was a merry Christmas after all

And for all a good night.
