The Reading of logic

By Lady Ravena

Young Anna Greyson, 18, read the describtions of each part of the reading with great detail, making sure of every detail. When she was done, she asked if he had any questions. Sarek shook his head, and she proceeded to pack the cards away.

"It is wrong, this tarot reading."

She looked up, eyebrow raised. "Is it? How?"

"The cards do not accuratley describe what there for any logical mind to see."

She looked at him, hardly blinking. "Perhaps you choose not to see everything, sir. We all have our closets and under the bed monsters."

He sniffed at her methaphor and rose. "This is nothing more than chance. Any shuffling combination can produce an entirely new reading. It is, therefore, illogical to believe it has any truth in it at all." With that, he turned to leave.

When he had almost reached the door, Anna smiled and called out, "Sarek?"

He paused, turned back.

"You shuffled the deck. You chose the order. I did nothing more than read them." She raised an eyebrow, copying his gesture. "I would suggest that you look over the cards you chose. They are trying to tell you something. Wouldn't it be logical to analyize this?"

He stiffened, gave one kirt nod, and stalked from the room. She nodded. "At least he's thinking about it."
