"James is not an idiot!" Lily defended.
"You're quite right; he only looks like an idiot." Sirius said laughing.
"He does NOT look like an idiot! He actually looks quite intelligible." Lily said.
"You're quite right; he only ACTS like an idiot." Sirius said laughing once more.
Lily was silent.
Sirius laughed even harder at that. "Even you can't defend him against that!"
"Defend me against what?" James said coming up behind Lily and kissing her on the forehead.
"Padfoot was saying that you were an idiot…" Lily said.
"Padfoot! How could you say something like that! I am so hurt right now; I don't think that I can even look at you. And I thought that we were FRIENDS!" James said, pretending that his feelings were hurt.
"Yeah, I thought so too until I realized what an idiot you were." Sirius said.
"He is not an idiot!" Lily said.
"You're quite right; he only looks like an idiot." Sirius said, starting to laugh again.
"This is going nowhere…" Lily said sighing.
"You're right… now I want you to say that I'm not an idiot, Padfoot." James said.
"But… if I said that, I'd be lying!" Sirius said, looking horrified.
"Just say it, or I'll hex you!" Lily said, getting her wand out.
"But… Lily you're the Head Girl! If you do that, you'll get in trouble!" Sirius said, with a smirk on his face.
"Well screw being Head Girl! Say it, or else!" Lily said.
"That's my girl. Jealous, Padfoot?" James asked, smirking.
"Why would I be when I have Marlene? Aren't you jealous of her, Prongs?" Sirius asked.
"Nope, Lily is my girl, and that is the end of this conversation." James said.
"NOW SAY IT ALREADY!" Lily said.
"Quiet or you will be chased out of the library! Ms. Evans-" Madam Pince began.
"Soon to be Ms. Potter!" James sang.
"Be quiet, Mr. Potter. Ms Evans, put your wand away right now! I am disappointed in you! 5 points from Gryffindor!" Madam Pince said.
Lily looked down in shame. This was one of the first times that she had got points taken away from Gryffindor because of her.
"Say it, I have my wand pointed at you, and I will do a non-verbal spell right at you if you don't say, 'Prongs is the awesomest and hottest person ever.'" Lily said, grinning wickedly, moving her wand so that it was still pointed at Sirius, but hidden from Madam Pince's view.
"Oh, you're this serious that you're going to risk getting points taken away from you? I better say it then." Sirius said.
Lily sighed in relief. James just watched the two of them in amusement.
"Prongs is the awesomest and hottest person ever." Sirius said, smirking.
"Good, you said it!" Lily and James said smiling at each other. Lily lowered her wand.
"NOT!" Sirius shouted, running away from them.
"That idiot…" Lily said.
"Sirius is not an idiot!" Marlene said, popping up behind them.
"You're quite right; he only looks like an idiot." James said, grinning.
"Oh bloody hell, not again!" Lily said, sighing.
