I do not own any characters. They belong to Roald Dahl. Yes, I know it ruins your childhood with Charlie And The Chocolate Factory because it's just soooo dark.

Golden stars swirled in Billy's vision. He felt as if the world was turning upside down. It all suddenly made sense, the dead pets, and the two familiar names.

Billy tried to stand up from his comfortable chair, but he couldn't keep his balance and fell back. The landlady's gentle blue gaze turned into something resembling a murderer's mad eyes. Billy couldn't take the dizziness anymore. He closed his eyes, but his consciousness still desperately clung to the world.

The landlady, satisfied, stood up and took a medicine pack from the cabinet nearby. She shook the powder into her mouth. "Ah... the cure... but, sweet boy, you're never getting this cure."

She sighed in relief and set her hands on Billy's back in an effort to take him upstairs. Billy's body tingled with tension as the old woman hauled him up, and his heart beat furiously fast as she carried him.

At the third floor, she set Billy's limp body on a hard, cold wooden table, and unsheathed her razor-sharp knife. At that second, the lights suddenly went out and plunged the world into darkness.

The landlady, who was used to this situation, fished for the matchbox in her pocket. But her hand could only touch fabric. The matchbox wasn't there. Suddenly, she heard the crackle of flames. She turned and saw the room with her two lovely collections of handsome men blazing with light. It had caught fire.

Billy could barely make out her words. "Oh no! The gas preserving the bodies are flammable!" she screamed, and ran to save her prized statues.

Billy sat up, his head a little clearer, but he knew that he had to get the cure fast. He jumped from the table and bounced back to the first floor.

It was hard to see anything in the darkness, but there was only the pack on the cabinet. He quickly gathered all the powder on his hands and sprinkled it into his mouth. Instantly, the dizziness faded and Billy bolted out of the door.

He was far away enough by the time the house exploded into flames.

Lots of love,

Kimchi.
