Our World
Introduction
Prologue
Hello there, everyone, and welcome to my FanFiction.
I'm a new member of this site, but it have been reading on here for almost a year now.
And now, I'm starting my first story.
Flame as much as you want; that's your opinion, not the truth (at least, I hope not).
Anyways, I'm going to stop rambling.
Maybe.
This is a Percy Jackson story.
I own nothing but the plot. Enjoy my attempt at writing.
Percy woke up in a cold sweat, yelling for Mommy.
It was a mostly normal night, otherwise.
Sally raced into the room the second she heard her son. He was whimpering and curled up into a ball, rocking back and forth.
It took a while, but she coaxed it out of him. He had had another nightmare.
"There—There were big scary dogs, Mommy... They had these red eyes, and tried to eat me..."
She hushed him softly, knowing exactly what he had dreamt of.
Hellhounds.
But she couldn't tell him the Greek myths were real. He was her little boy, her shining shard of hope in a world of cold, hard, bleak gray hopelessness. Telling him the truth would shatter that shining shard.
And she'd become as bleak as everything else.
When she finally snapped out of her stupor, Percy was asleep again. She smiled, but it didn't reach her eyes.
It never did, these days.
She tucked Percy in and kissed his forehead, making sure he had his 'sock' monkey with 'the fishy Nemo shirt,' as he called it.
She walked back to her bed and laid down, sighing.
"It's going to be alright, Percy."
Then a blast shook the house, and light flashed through their apartment. Wind whipped through what was left of the walls.
Zeus had found out about Percy, it was the only explanation.
Sally raced to Percy's bedroom.
He had disappeared.
Who likes my cliffhanger?
Anyone?
No?
Oh well.
I'll update when we get two reviews.
Not too big of a goal, is it?
I hope not.
Well, thanks very much for reading, reviews are much appreciated, and I will see you next time.
