You matter to me

I heard the gentle rustle of bushes behind me, before she appeared. I had missed her so much. Oh how I still long for her sandy brown tail to twist around my own moonlight grey one, as it once did. She still blames herself for a mistake we both made long ago. I can tell this by the overwhelming sense of guilt that hit me as she slowly padded towards me. Even after she went to StarClan he had found himself thinking about her for every second of every day. I still remember her beautifully white fur and her sky blue eyes that used to glisten in the sunlight. For a moment they both were silent, you could hear every long breath being drawn from the cold winter air. Without warning she spoke 'I've have missed you.'

Dawnpelt tried with all his might to reply without bursting into tears, tears that would never stop, eventually he replied 'Why did you have to leave?'

Snoweyes mewed calmly 'It could not be helped.'

Dawnpelt could not control his tears anymore, they started to stream down his face like a never ending river, he unlike his former mate was finding it hard to speak without his voice shaking 'I…I don't understand..'

This time Snoweyes narrowed her eyes and her shoulders sagged, she seemed to be looking out into the forest 'Everyone has enemies, but some are just more hungry for revenge than others.'

Dawnfur gazed at Snoweyes, puzzled, 'What do you mean, why do you speak of enemies at a time like this?'

Snowfur quickly regained her posture and looked away from the lush, green forest, 'I have told you too much.'

Dawnfur turned towards where Snowfur was sitting, only to find she was fading away, he screamed out in great heartache 'Why must you leave, I love you, do you not love me?'

Snoweyes gave him a meaningful look, 'Must I even answer that question, of course I love you, you are my entire world and I will watch over you from StarClan, we will meet again.'

Dawnfur raced towards where his mate had been sitting, but she was gone, and he could never catch her again.

For Kyle I friend who I could never replace :)
