Anastasia fell awkwardly into Mr. Grey's office. What did she even trip on? That was weird. She had a 4.0 she had never tripped before. She looked up to see a conventionally attractive man standing in front of her. Well, he was conventionally attractive besides his weirdly small baby mouth.
'Are you alright?' He asked her, without attempting to help her up.
She nodded and pushed herself to her feet. No way was she about to ruin this interview, it was one thing to ruin her own assignment but another to ruin a friend's.
'I'm Anastasia Steele, I'm replacing (that girls name I forget) for the interview today due to unforeseen circumstances. It's a pleasure to meet you. Are you ready to get started?' She kept a professional, calm demeanor about her so he wouldn't think he could take advantage of her.
As they started the interview, she began reading the prepared questions. Mr. Grey immediately started mocking the questions and trying to get her off track. She politely dismissed his rude remarks and kept the interview going. He asked her to call him Christian, she declined.
The interview ended. He attempted to get her to give him her number, which she stated would be unprofessional but thank you for the offer. She went home and handed her roommate the notes she had taken.
Her roommate Kat had suddenly become less sick, as if she was just avoiding going to the interview. Anastasia didn't bring this up.
'So what did you think of him? Was he hot?' Kat asked from the couch as Anastasia took off her shoes and coat.
Anastasia shrugged and mumbled something about him being alright. When Kat tried to push it, Anastasia changed the subject. She had homework to do to keep her 4.0 in English literature.
That weekend, Kat and Anastasia went to a bar because they're in college. They get drunk and hang out. Mr. Grey shows up while Anastasia is being harassed by her supposed friend. He attempts to bring her to his hotel. She feels uncomfortable and gets an Uber instead. She doesn't have a flip phone.
The next morning, her roommate came in with a concerned look on her face.
'Hey I saw what happened last night between you, Jose, and that guy. Are you ok? Do you want to talk about it?' Kat asks, sitting on the bed by Anastasia and placing a hand on her knee.
'I'm fine. That was so shitty. I don't think I'm going to talk to Jose again. He knows I'm not into him. How fucked is it that he thought that was ok?' Anastasia ranted on for a few more minutes, slowly getting louder.
Then, there was a knock on the door. It was a computer guy. He set up a new laptop and left without a word. Confused and suspicious, the girls walk towards it. There's a text from Mr. Grey on it. Anastasia immediately contacts the police. He is arrested for stalking.
