The Betrayal

Naruto could feel the cold kunai knife at his throat. He could feel the pain of death, gripping him at the neck. He could hear Sai laughing over his dead body. "Sai, have you no sense of honor," he grumbled.

"Angry Naruto?" mocked the black haired ninja. "I always thought your rage was a joke."

Naruto glared at Sai. "Don't push it."

"What is there to push," Sai gave him an evil glint. "But your soul from your body." Naruto could do nothing; it was almost inevitable that soon he would be dead. "Good bye, Naruto."

Naruto closed his eyes, "its over," he thought. But the fateful pain never came; he heard the kunai knife drop to the ground and Sai screaming in pain. Another kunai knife had pierced Sai's hand.

Naruto looked up, and saw Sakura perched on the tree above. "You worthless traitor!" she screamed. She jumped down from the tree with a punch aimed at Sai. He quickly jumped to safety before her fist met his face. The ground crumbled were he ounce stood. Naruto and Sakura looked around the surrounding forest; Sai was nowhere to be seen.

"He's gone," said Naruto.

"He better be," responded Sakura.

"Orochimaru sama, it's me Sai."

The snake like human just seemed to morph out of the darkness. "I'm glad to see you Sai, is Naruto dead."

"No, he got away," responded Sai.

Orochimaru noticed Sai's bleeding hand. "What happened, did we have an accident?"

"I got hit with a kunai," said Sai curtly.

Orochimaru gave Sai an accusing glance. "Are you sure you didn't get away?"

Sai began to get nervous. "What are you talking about Orochimaru sama?"

"I saw the whole thing," Orochimaru gave Sai a venomous look. "You're useless to me." One move and Sai fell to the ground motionless. "You're useless to me." Orochimaru morphed back into the darkness.
