I, Artsysmiles, do not own InuYasha, Kagome, Sango, or Miroku. If I did, then let's's just say that there would be a whole lot more muffin related puns. Weird, I know. That is all.
The Way You Were
Footsteps were heard on the leaf covered ground. The sky was a dreary gray, and no animals seemed to be alive. The footsteps ceased suddenly, and the person who caused the noise looked at the ground.
"Well, I'm here, InuYasha. I'm sorry I took so long; I couldn't escape my family. Too much stuff to do, not enough hours in the day. I saw Sango and Miroku on my way here. Their family is doing well, especially since Sango convinced Miroku to stop being such a perv," said Kagome, her large brown eyes filling with tears. She blinked before speaking again.
"You're probably wondering why I'm telling you this, huh? I thought that even though we defeated Naraku and repaired the Shikon Jewel, we could remain friends. I'd-I'd like that alot," she cried, tears pouring freely now. Averting her eyes from the spot on the ground, Kagome chose to stare at a tree instead.
"I've always loved you, more as a half-demon than a full one. You just changed, and I can't deal with that," Kagome whispered sadly. "I wish you'd come back. Then we could pick up where we left off. Me loving you and you secretly loving me. But that's not going to happen,is it?" She didn't expect an answer, and she didn't receive one.
"I wish you were here. InuYasha, I loved you the way you were. I hope we meet again." Kagome then placed down a small bouquet of flowers on the mound of dirt before her. A small stone tablet lay on the dirt, reading:
Here lies InuYasha.
A great demon, friend, and fighter. But an even better half-demon.
He died from the Shikon Jewel's power, absorbing to much at once.
A great half-demon to the end.
But there, at the bottom of the grave, scribbled in her neat and curvy handwriting, was a message from Kagome.
I loved you the you were.
The end! So sad, right? I just had to write that, it seemed to fit with the mood I was in. Please review! But no flames! Even if it's flame worthy!!
