Two-Bit being too literal.
"Where's Two-Bit?" Soda asked pulling on his gym shirt.
"He said he had to run home for his clothes," Pony replied. The locker room door slammed open and Two-Bit came in with a brown paper bag.
"Two-Bit, where have you been?" Steve asked as he slid into his shorts. There was a slight smile on the older greasers face.
"I'm here ain't I?" he asked.
"Just hurry up!" Johnny whined. Silently, Two-Bit went to his locker when the others left the room.
Outside, they were waiting anxiously as Two-Bit got himself ready. Darry was in the stands with Tim and Curly Shepard and a few Brumly Boys. Silently, the locker room doors opened and Two-Bit emerged. There was complete silence before Tim and Darry busted out laughing, which led the rest of the crowd and the teams to laugh.
Two-Bit stood there in a pair of too short, pink, swimming shorts, a pair of dark sunglasses, flip-flips, and a volleyball under his arm. Then, he asked, "Where's the sand?"
