The monsters reaction upon seeing his mate destroyed at the hands of Victor Frankenstein.

Throughout the long weeks that i awaited the creation of my companion i vigilantly occupied the surrounding land, not daring to stray too far from the place where she lay. The weather was harsh, snow and ice disguised the earth and a bitter wind howled about the barren landscape. No man could survive long alone if left outside in such conditions and yet despite this my heart was strangely warmed by my proximity to the decrepit hut within which my creator dwelled. Rarely could i peer through the darkened windows and when successful i saw only his back as he worked frantically towards her completion. Eagerly anticipating the new life soon to be brought forth i remained peacefully alone, contemplating my brightening future.

It was several days hence whereupon i was blessed with my first glimpse of my only kin. The merciless sleet had finally ceased allowing a few weak rays of sunlight to filter through the clouds and shine upon the earth. One such sunbeam fell coincidentally on the murky window of my creator's laboratory, dispersing through the glass pane and illuminating the immobile creature which lay upon a cold slab within. No words can describe the tremendous joy i felt in that moment as my gaze fell upon the most beautiful wretch that my eyes had ever beheld. A body as mutated and deformed as my own, yet most certainly of the female design. Movement behind her form caught my attention and i finally noted the presence of my dishevelled creator lurking in the shadows. The gratitude i felt towards this man was immense, despite the suffering which he had inflicted upon me, and i felt my facial features contort into a smile of thanks and happiness.

The workings of the human mind are something i shall never endeavour to comprehend, a twisted mass of impulses the likes of which would baffle all but the darkest of minds. The smile which i wore seemed only to madden Frankenstein, provoking him into a sudden frenzy of gruesome activity. Before my stricken eyes my darling companion was torn asunder where she rested defenceless.

A great fury overtook me for that moment causing my limbs to quiver and a great rush of energy exploded through my body. It was my initial desire to destroy the worthless whelp who had yet again cast me a crippling blow, to dismember him as he had done to my mate but in my madness a sudden burst of fine clarity encased my mind. For him to die would be a blessing, an escape from the guilt of the horrors he had caused and i wished for him to suffer. He would suffer the same fate as my own miserable self, alone and mourning. He would die but it would not be immediate, others would fall at his feet, a trail of death encircling him in dismal horror. With hate in my heart and anticipation on my mind i quitted the lonely precipice in search of Victor's most cherished companions.
