Tears filled Cas Novak's eyes as he saw the love of his life, Dean Winchester, suspended from the ceiling by his neck. Cas had known that this day was coming. However, he wasn't expecting it to be today. Cas ran for the kitchen, tearing it upside down looking for a knife. When he finally found a sharp one, he ran towards his lover, hoping that his background in medical training would be enough to save Dean. However, as Cas cut Dean down and caught him in his arms, Cas realized that Dean was beyond saving, as Cas noticed an empty bottle of aspirin and a half empty bottle of Jack. Cas's eyes overflowed with tears as he realized the extent of what his lover had done. Still, Cas called for the paramedics, just in case there was still a chance. Knowing that time was of the essence, Cas did his best to calm himself down enough to speak clearly and deliver the urgency of the situation to the operator. Before Cas knew it, two paramedics were breaking down their door and tearing him away from Dean. Cas watched with tears streaming down his face as the paramedics attempted to revive his husband. Miraculously, the paramedics restored Dean's heartbeat and breathing long enough to transport Dean to the nearest hospital. Cas was allowed to ride in the ambulance, as he had a background in medical training. However, that didn't stop the hospital staff from making him wait in the emergency waiting room. Cas waited for almost an hour before the attending doctor came out looking harried, but hopeful. Cas was told that they had pumped Dean's stomach, and did their best to treat the ligaments in his neck. He was also told that Dean would be on suicide watch, restrained, and under 24/7 guard. Cas also found out that if he hadn't walked in that door when he did, Dean's wish would have been granted. Tears filled his eyes as he asked if he could see Dean for a while. The doctor's face softened as he gently led Cas to Dean's room on the second floor, which was the ICU unit. Cas once again had tears running down his face, as he finally got a glimpse of Dean and all the machines he was hooked up to. Cas didn't even hear the door shut, as he was totally absorbed in looking at his lover.
