Farewell

Ran opened it. Her hands were trembling, her knees were shaking and her eyes were forming tears-tears ready to drop and fall down her soft rosy cheeks.

Dear Ran,

I know this would be really strange, after living with you for almost two and half years without even telling you the slightest hint I could give you. Your suspicions...they're true.

I'm Edogawa Conan.

And Kudou Shinichi at the same time.

You may be wondering right now. Confused. But I just can't hold this anymore. I'm sick and tired of lying. Covering up for myself. And you know, it always pains me whenever I see you cry because of Kudou Shinichi. That Edogawa Conan can't do something for you. Kudou Shinichi always hurts you. And Edogawa Conan always watch you cry because of me.

Me. Shinichi and Conan, we are one and the same.

I've been shrunk to my old self, back to an elementary student. I have committed my biggest mistake of my life.

You remember when we went together to Tropical Land? When I told you to go home ahead of me? It was my destiny. Right in front of my eyes. Now, I don't have much time. I have to go. In a couple of hours, I'll be facing the greatest decision of my life...the consequences. But no matter they separate us from each other, remember, I'll be here.

I have to defeat the Black Organization. I have to fulfill my promise. I have to go back.
