Jane laid on her bed her head resting on the pillow that was soaked with her tears.
It had been 3 weeks since they had found his body. Jane had known something had happened when he did not return that night. But she had held onto hope all 4 months he had been missing. But her hopes and prays went unanswered. Jane had found Jester's body deep inside the forest. He had marks all over him from some obvious torture including the words "Fear" hot ironed into his chest.
Jane had tried everything she could to help him but at that time he had been dead for days. The funeral had passed and the people that killed Jester had still not been found. But Jane was not interested in that. She had locked herself up in here room for all of the 3 weeks and had only left for Jester's funeral. Pepper had left food outside Jane's door that went untouched. Jane was still sobbing when she heard a knock on her door.
"Jane?" It was Gunther. She said nothing but continued crying. There was a creak and Jane's door opened up
"Jane. I am sorry but you have to get out of this room. Come to knights practice anything but you have to leave." He said as politely as he could. Jane did not move but merely said
"I am not leaving. I can not." Gunther moved closer to the sobbing red-head who lay in a head on her bed
"Jane I know. I know it hurts. But you have to continue your training! Jester would have wanted you too." Jane let out a small cry that was muffled by the pillow that her face was pressed against.
"I know. But I can not." Jane said sitting up a little. "Because I became a knight for his dream." Gunther looked at Jane confused
"Dream? What do you mean?"
"You know that suit of armor I have?" Jane asked now fully sitting up with her legs swinging over the side of her bed.
"Yes"
"That was Jester's. He gave it to me when I told him I wanted to be a knight. It was his dream to become a knight but he said that he was never really that brave. So he gave it to me and told me to dream his dream for him. And I did. But he will never see his dream come true." Jane said between desperate sobs. Gunther sat still. He never knew Jester wanted to be a knight. Gunther looked over at Jane
"So continue the dream without him."
"Why. He will never see me accomplish what he gave up to see. Becoming a knight is worthless now."
"No, it is not! Jester gave that dream to you! You have to continue it for him. Even if he will not see it. You may miss him but if he saw you giving up on your and his dream I think that would greatly disappoint him Jane. If you do not want to become a knight for yourself become one for Jester." Gunther said standing up looking at Jane whose eyes were pasted to the floor creating a puddle of tears. "Do what he could not!" Jane stared up at Gunther for a moment before grabbing her sword and heading out the door. But before she left she turned to Gunther raising her sword in the air and said with a timid smile
"For Jester!"
"For Jester…"
