Night covers the Earth. Konoha is all but silent. A wondrous festival takes place down their. Girls dressed in Kimonos run with their boyfriends up and down the streets of the village. Food stands are crowded with hungry travelers who came to see this event. The Hokage handing down her title. At the stroke of midnight, the new Hokage will be revealed.
Tsunade gathers her belongings from her office. It is the last time she will do the paper work she loathes. She gingerly picks up a picture. It is her standing next to her apprentice and the next Hokage. Her eyes look up and down the picture. He will become a great Hokage.
In the forest just outside the village, Shikamaru lazily avoids the loud and hyper festivities. The clouds cover the moon and the stars. Only one star is visible. It is a yellowish color. His eyes close. If only she were here.
Entering the forest, a girl, about the age of eighteen appears. Her hair is down, softly falling on her elegant shoulders. She is wearing a brown silk kimono that looks similar to a running deer. Her black striking eyes glance up at the yellowish star. She darts forward into the forest.
"Hey Shikamaru."
Shikamaru looks up. Naruto is standing upside-down in a tree.
"Waiting for someone Nara?" asked Naruto.
"No, I don't think she'd come to see the Hokage handing down her title to whoever gets it."
"That's a darn shame Nara. Well I have to get going, I'm meeting Hinata at the festival. If you decide to come, you can hang out with us."
Naruto leaps away. Shikamaru looks back up at the sky. The star is covered by a cloud.
The girl in the brown Kimono stops by a group of deer. She walks up slowly to a Stag. His antlers are large and majestic.
"Would you please take me to him?" the girl asks. The Stag bows his head and allows her to get on his majestic back. "Thank you."
Shikamaru is in the middle of the festival, awaiting Tsunade to declare who the sixth Hokage will be. His eyes are looking around for a familiar face to stand next to. He darts over to Chouji and Ino who are holding each others hand. Shikamaru decides not to speak. He would ruin the mood if he did. I wish she was here.
"People of Konohagure! I give you, you're next Hokage!"
Someone grabs Shikamaru's hand. He looks over and sees Temari standing next to his Stag.
"Our sixth Hokage is Naruto Uzumaki!"
Temari leans in and kisses Shikamaru gently on the cheek. They look back up at Naruto, Lord Hokage. He gives them a wink. Shikamaru and Temari try to leave. The area is to crowded. The Stag lifts the both in his antlers on to his back and leaps. Everyone gets out of the majestic Stag's way. Shikamaru looks back at Temari and kisses her.
