Sunscreen dripped into my eyes, stinging them as tears flowed freely down my face and onto the sand beneath my feet. I ran to the water, monstrous waves roaring like lions, pounding the rocky shore.
"Clemont," I yelled, my hoarse voice drowned out by the howling wind. "Clemont," I try again, still no answer.
"Serena," it was the faintest whisper but it was there. I turned to see Clemont, his golden blonde hair stained with blood, his hand covering a deep gash in his chest, and his blue eyes losing the light of life slowly.
I run next to him and kneel down, "Clemont, come on you can make it." I choke on my words, tears blurring my vision.
"Serena," he says, his voice is raspy and weak, "You are beautiful just the way you are. No amount of makeup would ever change that, and anybody who fails to see your inner beauty isn't good enough for you. This is the end, goodbye Serena…."
Just then, Clemont closed his eyes for the last time and I knew it was the end. My name was the last thing he ever said and he died right there in my arms. "Goodbye"
