Love Rivalries

Written by: Timeless Angel

Summary: Jealousy breeds in the deep, dark, bottommost pit of even the kindest, innocent creatures. And he, Hojo, was but a vulnerable mortal.

A/N: My first shot at writing poems. This is written from Hojo's perspective, anyway. I thought it was natural that every being has some form of jealousy hidden deep in their hearts, including the minor character Hojo. Hope you enjoy!

Rosy pink tinges her porcelain cheeks;

Her full lip puckers.

A slight, elegant, inward smile inches across her face.

She is back, she is alive;

My ravishing dame!

-

Courage brewing, anxiety exploding;

I wove my way through.

A thoughtful gift graces my entrance.

She smiles and accepts politely,

But deep inside, is that a scorn I see on her face?

-

A blur of red, a flash of silver;

My arch nemesis arrives.

Shamelessly stealing her heart and soul

From my side, in broad daylight.

What is it that he possesses, which I don't?

-

Head bowed low, shoulders drooping,

I gaze at my reflection in the puddle.

I despise, I abhor,

Being a mere meagre peasant's pride.

For I have lost. To him.

-

Her beauty is boundless, her smiles dazzling;

Her character loveable and charming.

I long for the place in her heart,

But why is it she ignores me,

The very essence of my life?

A/N: So…Was it good? Or corny and crappy? This is my first shot at writing poems so forgive my mistakes. Please review to let me know of your opinions! Thanks!
