(A/N: this just popped in my mind one day after Choir)

Neko smiled as she reached the lunch table. She sat down and pulled out a portable electric piano. She put it in front of her on the table and paused before she started playing. The tune was simple and complex at the same time. Neko was so into the music she didn't even notice Hinata arrive.

Hinata giggled and put her books on the table. She put the case she was carrying on her books and opened it revealing a beautiful violin. She picked it up tenderly and got into the right position. She began to play when Neko paused again. Hinata's sound was soft and kind. Neko giggled and began playing to Hinata's lullaby-like melody.

Naruto and Shikamaru soon joined them. Naruto immediately began to play the trumpet he already had out.

Shikamaru sat down and pulled his laptop from his backpack. Then he leaned back and listened for a second before he set to work on the techno sound program. The transforming song now had chirps and beeps that set the rhythm.

Tenten ran over from the school building, her French horn already out. She panted for a second before righting herself. She sat next to Neko and began to play as well. The sound of the horn made the tune transform to a louder, more playful song.

Sakura soon arrived with Temari on her tail. Sakura giggled and held out her own instrument case. Hinata bowed and turned slightly so Sakura could put her case down. Sakura lifted her flute from the case and waited for an opening before starting. The flute's soft melody weaved through the music.

Temari hefted her saxophone out of the cloth case and got into a comfortable position behind Shikamaru. She jumped in at a lull in the song and the piece now had a jazzy-blues tune to it.

Finally Sasuke, Neji, and Gaara came out. Sasuke sat beside Shikamaru and set his books on the table. He pulled out his guitar from its case and joined in instantly.

Neji reached in his backpack and pulled out some bongos which he began to play as soon as he sat down by Tenten.

Gaara took a little more time. He carefully lifted his cello and sat on Neko's other side. He reached back into the case and got out the bow. As soon as he began to play the melody was finally done. There weren't any holes to be filled or missing parts.

The teens played far into the afternoon. They forgot about their other classes and just played. After two hours Neko sighed and brought the piano's part to a close. She listened as Hinata finished, followed by Naruto, then Shikamaru, one by one they stopped until only the breeze was left, still whistling through the trees. Finally Naruto spoke.

"That was awesome!"

"Hn." Sasuke nodded in agreement echoed by Neji and Gaara.

"Same time tomorrow, guys?" Neko asked.

"Yeah." They all sighed. They got up as a group and went home, eager for the next day to begin.
