The Prize
AN: This is what happens when you're forced to watch re-runs of Highlander: The Raven because nothing else was on. Unfortunately, this one-shot wasn't enough to cure me, so don't be surprised if I post a cross-over where Bella is Amanda and Nick's immortal daughter.
Disclaimer: Don't own either Twilight or Highlander.

The headless bodies of humans and immortals alike were strewn across the Olympic Peninsula and it was finally down to just the two of us; Edward and I. Immortal vampire to immortal vampire, Volturi steel to Volturi steel. I closed my eyes and let the visions guide me. Even without my psychic ability, my brother's first move was overly predictable; a quick thrust that was easily parried.
Sparks danced along the metal where our blades touched. Edward recovered just in time to block my counter strike. With his mind reading, the two of us were evenly matched, or at least we should've been. We were also equally motivated. After over half a century of living together, I'd learned how to block him from reading certain thoughts completely. That little trick was his undoing.
While he'd been out eliminating Jacob Black, I'd taken care of our family. I cut off their heads, then absorbed their souls and power while I drank their venom. Carlisle, Esme and Jasper had been easy; Emmett and Rosalie were where the real fight was. But in the end, they fell before my blade. I summoned up all of my new power and launched a devastating offensive.
Edward wasn't able to keep up with the speed and strength of my attacks. In less than a minute, his head was on the ground and I was greedily sucking down venom and everything else that had been Edward Anthony Masen Cullen. The air crackled with energy as the Quickening happened; the point where I absorbed his soul and power. When the blinding pain of the Quickening subsided, I rushed out of the field because the Prize was now mine.

I slept naked beneath my covers so that I'd be ready when someone climbed through my window tonight. If I'd been a normal person, I'd have been upset with all the deaths that had occurred lately, but to be honest, I could care less. You see, the Volturi had me specially bred to act as The Prize; the person whose blood and body were given to the strongest vampire. Every two centuries since the birth of the Vampire Race, the Game has been played and as stated earlier, I was the Prize for the current Game.
In the end, there could be only one…tonight it was Alice Cullen, the Pixie.
I watched as she climbed through my window then stand before the foot of my bed. Her eyes were black with both bloodlust and sexual desire. She was in my bed in an instant, and without preamble took what she was hers. By sunrise, Alice still wasn't finished, but she stopped. Her teeth shredded the flesh of my neck then her venom seared its way into my system. Before I lost myself to the burning, she leaned in.
"I'm not finished with you. Once you finish the Change, I'll spend the rest of eternity sating myself with you," she whispered in my ear seductively.
