She hadn't been the luckiest in love, Rachel Rafter. It had started when she was fourteen years old, with Marc Antico. She had liked him, and thought she loved him. But then she made one huge mistake.

She introduced him to her family. Julie had been happy for her daughter, but Dave hadn't. And, upon agreeing to let his daughter venture out to the cinemas with him, had crash tackled the teenager, searching him for condoms ("It was only a little tackle", Dave had protested on many occasions. "Dad, you practically cavity searched him!" Nathan had reminded him).

Marc Antico had never spoke to Rachel again.

Daniel Griggs had been another failure. Rachel knew that she loved him, and was guaranteed that he was her prince charming. He would be the one for her to grow old with, get married and have his children, watching them grow up.

She had moved in with him, and many a night the two would lay in their bed, contemplating their future together.

But Daniel was an addict, abusing her and causing her to run home to her parents. To call Jake and return to the comfort her childhood home provided.

She had been with plenty of men- but not one had been right. Her father had crash tackled one, one had almost overdosed on ice, one had children only a decade younger than she was. While she wanted a family, she wanted one of her own.

And then there was Jake.

The one for her.
