Ties into the story of my other fanfiction (sins of the past)

Worth One Thousand Tears

Adam's office was filled with photos; his desk and walls were covered with framed memories.

Samus picked up one.

Twenty five spec-op soldiers were smiling and the words "Congratulations Sarge! Now you can put everyone through the hell we went through!" written on it. There was a signature next to each face: Outlet, Scarlet, Lockjaw, Taco, Talon, Eye, Narwhal, Necro, Phantom, Scarecrow, Snowman, Dragon, Coal, Ember and Bonesaws - just to name a few.

She placed the photograph in a box she was carrying around and went to the next one.

Adam had Bonesaws in a headlock. Above it was Necro holding high-calibre hunting pistol and Adam holding up a Ki-hunter. All of the pictures were similar: Adam with one or two of the spec-op guys, either hunting fishing or target shooting. Samus noted that the only female members, Scarlet and Ember, were not included. She packed everything away, sealed the box, and grabbed another one.

The next section was only wedding photos: Adam standing in front of a chapel; Adam standing with a woman with light brown hair; Adam dancing with the woman. Into the box they went. After that were the photos of Scarlet and Ember that were missing from the first section - nothing really interesting.

After that were a few photos of a stern-looking man Samus assumed was his father.

Ian was next. Trying not to look at his face, she had to hold back tears as the photos went into the box. She missed his face so much.

The office was looking bare now, only one place left.

Samus sat in an oversized red chair, spun once, and looked at the surface of the desk. Her eyes opened wide: every photo was of her - her graduation from the Federation Military Academy, various medal ceremonies, and Samus with Adam and his wife for Thanksgiving dinner.

What Samus found most touching were the frames. They weren't like the other ones; these ones were handmade and words like "my little angel" and "daddy is proud of you" were engraved on them.

A tear rolled down her cheek. Before she knew it, she was sobbing on his desk.
