It was past midnight, the room was dark, only a bit of blue moonlight shining through the window. Quiet, dark, warm. The only sounds were that of soft breathing. Sparks and Nova were snuggled up with each other, asleep. Sparks nuzzled his lovely mate, careful not to wake her up. Nova stirred, but didn't wake up. Sparks smiled and moved his hand from her waist to her stomach. He felt movement under his hand, and chuckled. She stirred and groaned awake.

"Uggg, can't you just go to sleep…?" She groaned.

"Sorry…" Sparks smiled.

"Not you, the baby, she won't stop kicking." She rubbed her round belly, trying to sooth her unborn child.

He put his hand back around her waist and kissed her neck.

"Maybe, she's trying to kick her way out..." he joked.

"Maybe…" she chuckled.

She acted like she was going to get up.

"Going to get some cake?" He stopped her.

"Maybe…." She said sleepily.

"I'll get it for you." He groaned as he stretched while getting up.

She laid back down "It's the only thing that stops her from kicking."

He walked towards the door and turned the TV on, he squinted his eyes as they adjusted to the bright light. A few moments later he came back with two plates of chocolate cake. He sat back down on the bed and handed her a plate of cake.

"She's going to be trouble…" Nova mumbled as she looked at her stomach.

"Of course she is. She's my kid after all." Sparks smiled.

After they finish their cake Sparks took the plates back to the kitchen, then went back to bed. Nova flinched and rubbed her stomach.

"Go to sleep." She groaned.

He put his hand on her belly. The kicking stopped. She looked over her shoulder at him and groaned.

"A great….she's gonna be like you…" she groaned.

He chuckled

To say the least, he was very happy to be a dad.
