Mirror, Mirror on the Wall

Soul gazed into the mirror that hung on the bathroom wall. Reaching out his fingers, he touched the cool glass and the reflection of his pale cheek. His scarlet eyes shone with unshed tears, threatening to grace his face as every second passed.

"Mirror, mirror on the wall, are these feelings real at all?" his voice spoke out into the silence.

No answer.

Soul sighs, lowering his hand and letting it flop by his side. As his head drooped, his chalk coloured hair fell around his face and covered it, obscuring his vision of anything but the floor beneath him.

Black Star was his friend. His best friend. They'd known each other for what seemed like forever and now Soul had gone a ruined it.

"Ruined it all by falling in love. How stupid can someone be?" Soul whispered, his voice engraved with sadness.

His best friend was now his secret crush, his hidden dream and all Soul could ever think about.

He shouldn't feel this way, not for Black Star, not for a guy. He couldn't tell Black Star, oh no, he'd get his ass kicked. It was wrong, all wrong and there was nothing he could do about it.

Suddenly, Soul threw back his head and let out a blood curdling howl, loud enough to wake the dead, or at least those in a heavy coma. He lashed out at the nearest object. The mirror. It shattered, spitting glass out as it found it's resting place on the floor at Soul's feet.

He looked down at it, his ruby red eyes blinded by crystal tears, falling to floor and staining the shards of glass like rain on a window.

Soul's voice quivered like a leaf upon the breeze.

"Shattered mirror on the floor, hidden I'll stay forever more."
