Just something short and quick I put together. AU ending or missing scene, your choice.

Once again, this is slash. Don't like, don't read. You have common sense for a reason.

Kyle's skin is warm when his hand touches it. Warm and alive, instead of sickly and dead, it was more then he could've hoped for. A miracle by no small measure.

"I missed you." The slender figure in his arms whispers softly. "I thought I'd never see you or Star again when they put me in that cell."

Marcus feels his throat tighten from the boy's words. He felt the same thing when the Harvester carried Kyle and Star away from him and the feeling only grew strong when he failed to act in time and fell from the side of the transport ship. A part of him, the remaining human part, honestly thought he'd never see the boy again.

None of those feelings or memories matters anymore. Kyle's here alive, and curled tightly against Marcus's large chest. Star is pressed against his leg, her little fingers wrapped tightly around his machine hand and her face pressed against his hip. He pulls them both close and sighs happily from their warmth.

Kyle emits a similar sound against his chest before pulling away. The teen's face is covered with dirt and grime. His eyes are watery and his smile is almost as bright as the scorching sun overhead. His smile widens as he leans upwards, their lips meeting in a soft, chaste kiss. The contact is even more proof that the boy is alive and well and Marcus tightens his arms around the slender frame even more.

This boy was his to protect and his too love. They were together again, nothing else mattered. Skynet couldn't separate them and he doubted there was a force in this new world that would. Nothing would separate them ever again.
