A/N: This is for Hogwarts Assignment 5, Charms task #7: Colloshoo: Write about two people stuck somewhere. This is also for Slash September prompt James Potter, the Insane House challenge prompt creature: house elf, Autumn seasonal challenge: Audrey's Dessert Challenge, Chocolate sponge – Remus Lupin. It's 545 words.
James looked at his boyfriend sheepishly.
"You're telling me that after all the checking we did, you still managed to forget the return portkey?" Remus said disbelievingly.
"It looks like it. I'm sorry, Remus, I really thought I'd packed it," James apologised.
The last two weeks had been paradise, but both of them were ready to go home. Although wizarding Britain was at war they missed their friends and family.
"What are we going to do?"
"I don't know. We don't have any way to contact anyone, or get to the mainland. I would say that we're pretty screwed," he said.
It didn't help that you weren't able to apparate over a body of water no matter how short the distance was.
"Are you sure there is no way we can contact the agency, or owners at all?" Remus asked.
"The agency said that villa isn't connected to the floo network, and that the owners are only involved in the maintenance of the property. I can't remember reading any other way to get hold of them," James informed him.
"Well we're fucked then, aren't we?"
James couldn't help but agree. There were only two thing they could try; wave a passing boat down and hoped it could take them to the mainland, or wait for the next guests to arrive and hope that they were able to get in touch with someone on the outside. At least the house elves would feed them.
House elves, he thought.
"We could call one of the house elves to contact the agency!" James exclaimed.
Remus stared at him for a moment.
"I'd forgotten about the house elves," he admitted.
"Posey," James called.
A clean and well dressed elf appeared before them.
"How can Posey help mister?"
"We have accidently left our return portkey at home. We were wondering if you could either take us to the mainland, or get in touch with your master to let them know we might have to stay a few days more," James told them.
"I can't take yous to the mainland, but I can tells master that you need help."
"Thank you, Posey," James said, before the elf popped away.
"I guess we will be staying here for a little while," Remus said walking over to the couch and sitting down.
"You know I'm sorry, don't you?" James asked.
"Of course I know. I probably should have checked as well, but there's nothing we can do about it now."
They sat in silence for a while before Posey came back.
"Masters say that one of them can pick yous up on Monday. They away too so can't do it now. Theys also said you have to pay more for help."
"Thank you, Posey. Please tell them that we're grateful for the help, and we agree to pay their fee," James said kindly.
He didn't like guaranteeing to pay a charge without knowing what the cost was, but so long as they got off this island it would be worth it.
"What do you want to do now?" Remus asked.
"How about we go for a swim? Might as well enjoy the next couple of days whilst we can," James said before stripping down to his boxers and walking out into the sun.
