Because I'm in love with this couple. Deal with it! :P

Trump Card

"Come on, Yuto! Summon your ace monster!"

Yuto just gritted his teeth, in disbelief that his best friend's little sister had cornered him into summoning his dragon but he had to. Much like her brother, Ruri was stubborn but kind and a overall decent duelist. Their latest squabble duel started out simply because Yuto didn't like the looks of that Dennis, around whom she was hanging around too much for his taste.

"Don't regret it when it blows you away!" he taunted right back causing her to laugh. Her tinkling smile was beautiful. It was always had been. He knew her longer than that clown so why was he so jealous? Hold on, jealous? He? Yuto didn't pay attention and, having ended his turn without XYZ summoning like he was supposed to, he could only gape and watch as Ruri destroyed one of his XYZ materials. He growled softly as she chuckled, waggling her finger at him.

"Trap card, open! Reborn out of the Abyss!" Ruri said. "This card allows me to special summon the monster that I just destroyed! Return, now!"

He could only watch as his monster appeared on her side of the field. She now had three level 4 monsters. Yuto hang his head as she XYZ summoned her ace monster, her trump card, rank 4 Blue Hazard Phoenix. As the gigantic bird slowly glowed blue above him - he listened to it's cry - he could almost pretend that she knew about his feelings and returned them.

Neither of them heard the dark chuckle from the shadows. Not until it was too late...

Thank you for reading my drabble!

Created cards:

Reborn out of the Abyss (Trap) - special summon your opponent's monster from the graveyard if it has just been destroyed in battle. It has to be level 4 or lower for this card to work and it can only be used once per turn.

Blue Hazard Phoenix (Rank 4/XYZ/Effect) - 3 level 4 monsters. Once per turn, by detaching an overlay unit, halfen the attack of one of your opponent's monsters. Add the difference to your own LP. The effect lasts until the end of your opponent's next turn. If this card is destroyed by a monster effect or in battle, take that same difference as battle damage instead.
