I love LOTR. This is actually my first Fic for this category…it's a short, dumb story I hope you all like, because I sure do. Takes place at Helm's Deep.

It was a normal night. At least, as normal as it could get when there were wars raging halfway across the land. There was also a lot of bunking going on. Aragorn found himself sharing a small room with Legolas and Gimli, both of them not too happy with the room arrangement.

"I have to bunk with an Elf?" Gimli was currently growling. "How much worse can this get?"

Aragorn just lay out his supplies and claimed a corner, not up to bickering with the other two. Within moments, sleep claimed him.

"Aragorn," Came the sweet, whispered voice.

Aragorn opened his eyes to see Arwen's face next to his, her lips stretched in a small smile. "Arwen. It's so good to see you." Aragorn said, laying a kiss on her lips.

"Uh….Aragorn?"

"I see fierce battles in your future." Arwen said softly. "But with your strength and your friends it will quickly pass."

"What keeps me fighting through those long battles is you." Aragorn said, kissing her again.

"Aragorn? Oh, good lords of Gondor…ARAGORN!"

"When will I see you again?" Arwen asked.

"Soon, very soon-"

"ARAGORN SON OF ARATHORN! UNHAND ME THIS INSTANT!"

Aragorn's eyes snapped open and he came face to face with a beat-red Gimli who was a little too close for comfort. With a start, the Ranger realized that one arm was wrapped around the Dwarf's shoulders.

"What is wrong with you? One second I'm dreaming of the mines and the next you're saying something about true love!" Gimli spat.

"Arwen, I presume?" Legolas yawned from the furthest corner of the room.

"It would have to be! But why would he mistake a bearded Dwarf for his soul mate?" Gimli glared at Aragorn again.

"I…uh…." Aragorn couldn't find words to express his embarrassment.

"Maybe there's more about Arwen that he lets in on." Legolas muttered, falling back asleep rapidly. Within a few moments, he was out of the conversation.

"If I catch you trying to hug me in your sleep again, this axe will be imbedded in your head." Gimli put his axe within arm's reach. "Good night, Ranger."

Aragorn just sort of sat there. Did that really just happen? Oh well…at least I didn't kiss him. He thought, turning and falling back asleep again.

This time he dreamed of a good, hot roast chicken.
