Unnoticed
Hinata was always unnoticed.
She was always unnoticed by the one person she wanted to be noticed by.
Naruto Uzumaki.
She gazed after him longingly every day. His brilliant, blonde hair. His crystalline, blue eyes. His radiant, happy smile. His everlasting endurance even in the hardest of times. His joyful personality. It was all a part of him. It was all of this that made Hinata love him so.
And yet….
She was always unnoticed.
She always blended in with the crowd. She never stood out. She was always common, forgettable, and unmemorable. She wasn't beautiful. She wasn't smart. She wasn't even good at sports. She was destined to merge into a crowd of undistinguishable features.
And yet….
She desperately wanted to be noticed.
Every fiber of her being screamed for recognition. Every wish on a star she made ached with suppressed feeling. She wanted to scream on a rooftop. She wanted people to acknowledge she was in existence.
And yet…..
They never did.
She was always left out in the cold by the one person she cared about most. She honestly didn't care about anyone else's approval. Only Naruto's. Only his. But he had eyes only for Sakura. Only for her. All of his energy went into impressing her. Being there for her. Loving her.
And as for Hinata?
Naruto barely spared her a passing glance.
She wished she was like Sakura. Beautiful, confident, smart, and strong. She wanted to shine. She wanted to be the one that everyone admired. She wanted to be seen as worthy in her father's eyes. She wanted to be happy.
But….
Sometimes she felt she never would.
Sometimes she felt that she would live forever in the shadows. Sometimes she felt completely hopeless. Sometimes she felt like she would go on for eternity.
On the outside looking in.
