You mean where I laid one on you?
A quick one shot that popped into my head after watching Smallville Season 6 opening episode.
As always I do not own the rights etc... to Smallville or its characters.
Now I have nothing against the character of Lana Lang but in the Smallville take on her, it's just that they completely missed the mark with the way they wrote her. What did Clark see in her? Chloe was way more suited to him and the connection they shared was obvious and as I write this I am re-watching the season 1 ending of the opener of Season 2, why did they have her pull the friend card; why couldn't they have given them a chance?
"You mean where I laid one on you?" said Chloe, despite seeing Jimmy again she was watching and hoping that Clark for once would see her the way she had always seen him. Time froze for her as she waited for him to wake up and realize what they both knew, that they belonged together.
Clark had realized why he fought so hard to get out of the Phantom Zone, the smile on Chloe's face was stronger than the sun; she had always been there for him and he had taken that for granted. As Zod had trapped him in the portal all he could see was one face, hers.
He had thought long and hard as he made his way to the Daily Planet; could he hope that she felt for him, the way he realized he cared for her. Yes, Chloe had kissed him but was it a real kiss or the rush of emotions that they may not have seen each other again.
Clark remembered the feel of her lips on his, the passion that flowed from her; he had never felt even a tenth of that from Lana, who he had thought he was in love with. Now he realized more than ever that he had been in love with the idea of her not with her itself.
Clark decided not to wait any longer, should he not have the one he loved and he reached out to Chloe and drew her to him.
"Clark?" was all Chloe could get out before she felt his lips capture hers, surprised at first but she quickly return the kiss with equal force; they fought for dominance with each other as they shared a real kiss, one full of love as they held themselves to each other.
Jimmy meanwhile had walked in to the bull pen and saw Chloe with a giant of a man, their arms wrapped around each other as they made out despite the looks of those around them. To be fair he had not returned her calls after their brief affair and as much as he wanted something now with her, after seeing her again this was clearly a losing battle.
Reluctantly Chloe pulled away as she was seriously in need of a deep breath and all she could think was that Clark really knew had to kiss.
"Clark, I think we need to talk" as Chloe dragged Clark by his hand to the stairs, she was not letting him slip through her fingers again and as soon as they were alone "Now, Clark let's get out of here."
Clark smiled and scooped her up in his arms "Whatever you want my love."
Chloe's heart skipped a beat, "I love you too."
And with that Clark slipped into a burst of speed and they vanished, no-one seeing them until late the following day as they strolled into the Kent Home hand in hand, smiles across the faces as they went to tell Lois and Martha.
