The Beginning of the End
"My soldiers, friends, brothers in arms. I have news from the "Council of Elders". They say the war has been cancelled; it is over. We can all go home. The enemy is getting paid for their crimes and our friends, family, brothers in arms will have died here for nothing but we can all go home.
Yes, isn't great? We can go home while there is mass genocide, sick experiments and other countless horrors going on in that country. Yes, ideas like peace, justice and freedom are not as important to those we elect in office as long as the economy is doing well and they are getting paid, but we can all go home. We can go home to our cozy houses with a T.V. and scrolls while people are being slaughtered for the sin of not being a certain way, be it race or monetary station. They are cast aside.
If a boy forsaken by a people that cannot find peace of mind, why must he suffer for mistakes that weren't his? We cherish all children and esteem those we see worthy into the eyes of all, but children like Naruto, Gaara, Yugito, are not cherished. They are the physical representation of all that we "humans" hate. Even after all the hatred and pain we cause them they were always there to help. They are the ones that should be highly esteemed. That is what we are leaving behind… but we can all go home
To go home… doesn't it sound great? To go where people care about our existence and purpose as human beings. Here people don't have that kind of luxury; they only have fear. When people asked "do the upperclassmen care for you?", do you know what they say?
They say, "Care…What is care? What is peace? What is love? I know naught of these things, yet am I compelled to embrace these ideas? Do I exists watch everyone gain happiness while I languish in darkness? Am I simply here to suffer?"
Today, men, I shall tell you that I will stand in the face of tyranny and shall say all men are created equally and there is nothing you can do or say that will ever change that fact. To do so is to take on God and, believe me, I Will always stand against you and all like you."
