"Beckett! Just hear me out!"

She turns on the heels of her boots, arms folded across her chest, but she sits and listens to him anyway. She can't help but to smile, her hand trying to hide it. But he catches it, knows he's got her right where he wants her.

"Okay, so I was walking home from the corner store, because today's Thursday and every Thursday they have—"

"Castle…"

"Right. Okay, so I was heading home when I heard this muffled little cry coming from an alley way. It was raining so hard, I almost didn't hear it. But then I looked over, and Kate…" He says softly, his face dropping, the cutest smile taking over his features. He takes the small kitten out from under his jacket and holds it up to his chest. It meows, shakes a few water droplets off it's head and looks directly at Kate.

She's still grinning, because how can she not. The man she loves is soaking wet, standing in front of her, holding a kitten he rescued off the streets.

"He reminds me of you," He mews. He brings the kitten up to his face, let's it rub it's cheek across his stubbled jaw line.

She cocks her head to the side, waits for him to elaborate. But he's so caught up in the kitten.

"And, how, exactly…does this little fella remind you of me?" She stands up now, walks over to Castle, runs a finger over the back of the cat's head. It purrs against Castle's face and he beams a smile at his fiance.

"He's got sass. And he's definitely not afraid of anything. When I found him, he was on the edge of a dumpster, just sitting there meowing. When I walked up to him, he hesitated at first, but then let me pick him up. And look, he's even got the color of your eyes."

Kate huffs out a laugh, shaking her head incredulously at him

"We can't keep him, Castle. We're never home, and Alexis is away at school. Martha's in and out, no one would ever be there for him." Despite the words coming out of her mouth, Castle watches as she pries the little guy out of his hands, and brings him up to her face. "You are cute, though."

"The thing about cats, Kate, is that they're very self sufficient and can take care of them selves. All we need is a littler box, and a little bit of training, and he'll be set!"

"When will we have time to train him?"

"Your days off? When we get home early? I can miss a few days here—"

"Castle," She laughs. "Do you really want to keep him?"

He shakes his head eagerly, taking a step toward her with his hands clasped under his chin.

She sighs, clearly defeated. "Okay, okay. We can keep him."

Castle throws a victorious hand up in the air and then brings it to Kate's face. He cups her jaw and kisses her. The kitten in between them starts to meow, pawing at Castle's face.

"See?" He says. "Just like you. Always wants my attention."

She slaps his chest, "Oh, hush."

"What're we gonna name you, huh?" Kate scratches him behind the ears, and it closes it's eyes and falls into Kate's embrace even more.

"Oh! Let's name him Kbex."

"Castle, no."

"Oh, come on, Beckett! It's perfect!"

"No, Castle."

"Cosmo?"

She laughs. "If it'll stop you from naming our future son that, then, yes. We can name him Cosmo."

Castle claps his hands with excitement, a giant smile taking over his face-the kind that makes his eyes crinkle around the edges; Kate's favorite smile.

Kate turns with the kitten huddled to her chest and begins to walk toward the elevator. Castle's right behind her, grabbing her bag and coat as he catches up to her.

"Alright, little Cosmo. Let's get you home."
