Not a single thing was stirring ,
Not even a mouse ,
everything was afraid , in the quiet house .
for you see skeleton jack came back dressed in black ,
hiding in the shadows ,
giving children such a fright , on this cold brisk autumn night .
prancing down the streets , and tapping on windows ,
even scaring the occasional widows .
Children eating candy , and getting tummy aches ,
parents getting nauseating headaches .
People dressed in costumes , young and old .
And teens smelling of perfumes .
On this cold brisk Halloween night .
Oh ! Was he giving the children such a fright !
He laughed with glee !
For it was always on Halloween night , that he felt free !
He wasn't happy , no for he was glad !
And now trick and treating soon ended ,
now he was sad.
but he knew it would always come back next year .
So with nothing else to do , he took a step then soon two.
as he headed back to Halloween town ,
back to his Pumpkin queen , Sally .
he smiled , as soon as he saw her , they were the king and queen , of the Halloween night , giving children a fright !
