Terry had barely had time to register where he was before he heard a familiar deep voice begin to speak.
"Who the hell are you?"
"Really Bruce, I thought you would recognize me" Diana quipped and Terry chuckled; Bruce even managed the barest hint of a smile. Diana had always managed to get through his Batman persona he projected and find Bruce Wayne. The only other person who could ever do that was Selina. However, just as quickly as his mood had shifted into one of humor, it returned to his typical cold and calculating demeanor.
"You I know" he said, and Terry couldn't help but clench his jaw slightly as he heard the undercurrent behind the words. "Your friend, I don't"
"I'm Batman" Terry replied and Bruce smiled; this smile however was not friendly but cold and superior just like the smile the Bruce from Terry's time had worn when he had met the Jokerz the same night he had first met Terry.
"Sure you are" he replied and Terry just smiled in return before looking at Diana who grinned as she realized what he had in mind. She took her lasso off her hip and threw it around Terry, both smiling as they remembered the night they had first met, with Terry asking the questions.
"What is your name?"
"Batman" he replied, smirking as he saw Bruce's jaw tense slightly.
"What is your relationship to Bruce Wayne?" she asked, asking him the same questions he had posed to her.
"He gave me the batsuit" Terry replied and Diana's grin broadened as she saw Bruce's jaw tense more.
"What's your real name?" he barked, beginning to lose patience with the person in front of him.
"Batman" he said and then Diana removed the lasso.
"That was fun" he remarked and Diana just walked up and kissed him.
"We can always have more fun with it later" she whispered in his ear, causing him to shiver slightly at the implications of her last statement. However, before he could do anything else, a glow filled the room, subsiding to reveal two women, one blonde and one brunette, both wearing armor. Diana immediately fell to her knees and Terry did likewise, removing his mask as he did so.
"Rise" the women said, both glaring at Bruce who had not kneeled.
"How may I serve you Lady Artemis, Lady Athena?" Diana asked.
"It is not you we come for daughter of Hippolyta. We must see if this Batman is worthy"
"Worthy of what?" Terry asked, wondering what the Gods wanted with him now.
"Worthy of being with our champion. Pass and you shall have the blessing of the Gods. Fail and you shall be sentenced to Tartarus for eternity; thus says Zeus."
"NO!" Diana yelled, but she knew there was no other option; the will of the Gods had to be enforced.
"If I refuse?" Terry asked and the two Goddesses eyes flashed in anger.
"You shall lose all memory of the daughter of Hippolyta"
"But Lady Artemis-"
"ENOUGH child! What is your choice Batman?"
"Give me your tests Lady Artemis" Terry answered. Artemis snapped her fingers and Batman was gone.
