While joking with Darkly Dreaming, I was hit by a crazy idea. I blame her for keeping me up well past my bedtime, but I also want to thank her for the 3+ hours of giggles I had writing and re-writing this. A zombie story told from the zombie point of view. It's weird, crazy, maybe even demented. I don't care. I present to you ZomShenny.
Oh, and I don't own The Big Bang Theory or it's characters, blahbbity blah blah.
She was hungry. She was always hungry. She shuffled around the overturned car in the road. She was searching, for what she did not know. She only knew she had to find it, whatever it was. She was sure she would know it when she found it. She felt a pull inside her. She needed to go north. What she needed was in that direction. She caught the faint aroma of sweat to her right. Food. Slowly she switched direction and followed her nose.
Others were there too. Others like her, so she ignored them. They weren't food. But there was food. She moved closer and tried to call it out to her. She moaned loudly, raising her voice over the others. The food was behind something, out of reach. She could see it. Several foods. But when she tried to touch it, pull it to her, her hand hit something hard. She reached again and again, but it wouldn't come out. When the light was gone, and she couldn't see the food any more she moved away.
That need, that pull inside her was strong and she had no choice but to follow it. She moved around others and continued to search. The light was returning when she found food. It was slow food, large and sweet smelling. She lunged as it tried to go around her. Her hand snagged on it's shirt and it tripped. She fell on it and sunk her teeth into the soft flesh. In moments others joined her. She dug her fingers into the slippery meat and crammed it into her mouth. Soon the food was gone and she was still hungry, but not as much as she had been.
She stood and began moving again. She knew what she needed was close. She felt it. So very near. Others had been here. There was lots of not food on the streets. Once was food, now was old dead food. Not good to eat. She wandered around the area for three lights and darks, searching but not finding. Then she smelled it. Food. But not normal food. Special food. She followed the smell down an alley to a small window just above the ground. Special food was in there. It pulled at her. She slipped through the window and looked around. She could smell it, but not see it. A noise drew her further into the room. The sweet smell grew as she moved forward. Suddenly it appeared. It screamed but she paid no attention to it. The smell was better than any other food ever.
This was what she had been searching for. It was not food. It was something else. She latched onto it before it could do more than make noise. She moaned with joy as her teeth tore into the arm. Hers. Not for others. It hit at her, but she didn't care. It was probably mad she took so long to find it. She understood this was not food, but special, so she only ate a little. She dropped it to the floor when it sagged in her arms. She watched it curiously as it looked at her. It was special. She knew that, but she didn't know why. It twitched and died. She waited.
The light was leaving again when it opened it's eyes. It slowly stood and looked down at her. She had to look far up to see it's eyes. It's eyes were blue. She remembered that word. She vaguely wondered if it knew what color her's were. It reached out and took her hand in it's larger one. They could both smell the food above them. She was hungry. Like always. She knew it was too. They turned and shuffled through the door. Time to eat.
