Prolouge: Shattered Dreams
She could feel her tears cascading down her cheeks. Earlier that day, she got married… to the man of her dreams. She was so happy that her dream of marrying the one she loved the most came true. Now, they were on their honeymoon. It was suppose to be a special occasion… but looking at the situation now, it was far from what she had always imagined.
"Let's get this straight once and for all. I only married you out of pity and responsibility… not because I love you. Heck! I really didn't have to marry you in the first place! It was just a one night stand! You're not even pregnant. I was only forced to marry you so don't expect anything from me." The words of her husband broke her heart. There she was thinking that their marriage was the most wonderful thing that happened in her life… while he was thinking otherwise.
"P-please… don't say that…" each hurtful word from him was bruising her heart.
"Look Xiaoyu… I was forced into this so I'm going to say what I feel in all honesty. I hate you so much. I loathe the sight of you. Even now… just being here with you arouses my hatred and anger. I wish you will disappear from my sight. Remember this; I'll make you regret the day you got married to me." her tears and sobbing got uncontrollable.
"J-jin… why are you doing t-this?" she asked in between her sobbing. He scoffed.
"I hate you that's why. And don't even think of telling this to our grandfathers, you know it would break their hearts. Pretend everything's fine while I go on in secretly ruining your life." Jin said in full mockery while he exited the room. Xiao was left to silently cry and wish that all of this was just a bad dream. That if she woke up tomorrow, she'll be in the fairytale that she always wanted.
Unfortunately though, she was not in a fairytale. They were already back from their honeymoon but it seems to her like nothing ever happened, like she never even got married. It's true that Jin was forced by their grandfathers to marry her. One night they went to the same party… then they got drunk, then it happened. When her grandpa, Wang Jinrey heard about it, he insisted that they should marry, whether she was pregnant or not. Their grandfathers also saw that it was a perfect opportunity to strengthen the connection of their companies with each other. With all honesty, she was never forced to marry Jin… in fact she loved the idea from the start. Her grandpa knew he had feelings for Jin ever since but he never noticed her. Now they're already married, but he hardly pays attention to her. Jin wouldn't even talk to her… or if he did, it was to tell to her face how much he hated her. For crying out loud! She was in love with him… deeply. If only he could see how much she's hurting… or maybe he wouldn't even care.
"What should I do? If only I could make you love me too…"
