Ok guys this is my first fanfic so be nice :D I know this chapter is a little short but I will try to update every once in a while :) here goes nothing!
Elizabeth
"Hey, you! Get up come on!" Elizabeth heard through the veil of her semi conscious state. "Come on! Their coming!" Someone was shaking her. "What?" Elizabeth murmured. She tried to lift her head up but it made her feel even more dizzy. She felt herself being dragged through the dead leafs on the forest floor. "Stay here!" The voice said. "Mmhhmm" Was all she could reply. She heard hooting in the distance. The person was leading them away- she might still have a chance. She started to try to get up- who ever this was, she couldn't stay with them, even if they had saved her. "Wow wow wow- Don't move, kay?" The same voice she had heard a few moments earlier sounded. "Looks here like you have a concussion, your lucky though, it's pretty mild." She felt herself being pulled into a sitting position. "We're going to have to go now though, kay?" The voice said.
Elizabeth opened her eyes. She was lying on a couch, in a house. It was an old colonial, she thought. Her mum had always made her study things like these. She frowned. Was this a dream? What happened at Chestwick High- did that happen? She shook her head she didn't want to remember that- not even if it was a dream. Pain shot through her head. "ow!" she said clutching my head in her hands. "So your awake huh." She heard a voice come from behind the couch. She jumped again. "Try not to move." Elizabeth looked over the edge of the couch to see a girl- probably around her age. She was wearing a black shirt and jacket with dark jeans and combat boots. Elisabeth could see the hilt of a hunting knife in the girls boot. "Do you have any injuries?" The girl asked. "What do you mean?" Elizabeth asked wearily. "Did you get bitten?" The girl asked again. Elizabeth raised her eyebrow. "What do you mean?" The girl sighed. "My name is Theresa, but you can call me Tess." The girl said. "My names Elizabeth, but you don't need to shorten it." Tess gave her a look. "So you don't know whats happening yet." She sat down on a red and yellow granny chair sitting across the room from the couch. "All I know is that there are freaks that attacked my school. I saw people die!" Elizabeth said loudly. "Well, we see a lot of that nowadays don't we." Tess said in an annoyed tone. "Also keep your voice down- it'll attract them." Both girls stayed silent for a few minutes. "What are they?" Elizabeth asked, breaking the silence. "They aren't human, thats for sure." Tess replied. Elizabeth didn't say anything so she went on. "They used to be human, just like you or me..." She paused. "You see, it's the bite that kills you. Once you get the fever, theres no going back. After a while, you die. And then you come back as one of these." Tess walked quietly over to the gas lantern sitting on the coffee table and turned it down a couple notches. "Come look." Tess whispered. Elizabeth got up slowly on meandered around the furniture to get to the door. After Tess came away she looked through the peep hole. A few of them were wondering around the yard amlessly. I took the moment to look at my surroundings. The yard stretched only a little bit until the grass met the concrete of the road. A few cars were parked in the drive ways, and there was one on the right hand side a ways down. Elizabeth looked away from the hole. "I was thinking we could go scavenging for supplies down at the town today- never know might find something i haven't already." Tess muttered. "OK." Elizabeth said. But her mind was else were.
