Chapter One

I walked out of the brightness of the movie house and only had one thing on my mind, Cherry Valance. We had been together for 2 weeks since Dally died and Johnny. I had missed Johnny so much that I had almost committed suicide twice, Darrey had been there though to stop me once, the second time I couldn't get my medication bottle open.

"So, Ponyboy what did you think of the movie," Cherry asked in her sweeter than ever voice which I couldn't resist but smile. She was always so sweet to me, but I couldn't get my mind off Dally. Why did he have to be so stupid why couldn't he just stay here that way I could tell him what Johnny said about sunsets! Why them, Why the only people I cared about.
