Between the Past and the Present Epilogue

My story began many years ago in 1986 my birth year, my name is Schular "Sky" Tate; I was an average boy with a strong spirit and a good conscious. I was born in Denver, Colorado and by the age of five I moved to Chicago, Illinois. That Is where I met my best friends Tim Anders and Jeremy Armstrong, Tim was a fearless and brave kid and Jeremy was a quite but observing fellow when I first met them, that was in preschool of course. I had a cautious attitude, I kept an eye on Tim a lot, and he had a tendency of getting in trouble or getting in fights with other boys. Me, Tim and Jeremy kept an eye out for one another, we were as our parents called us the three musketeers. We eventually became so bonded that we practically lived together, our parents were good friends with one another so they didn't mind. My dad Marcus Tate worked in the architectural industry, He worked for Grove enterprises. They blueprinted and constructed skyscrapers on the Chicago skyline, he made bank at that job. In his best year he made $125,000 Dollars, but that was short lived. By the mid 1990's America was in a recession and stocks plunged to all time lows. Due to the poor economy me and parents had to move, I thought I would never see Tim or Jeremy ever again. But my dad wasn't the only one laid off my friends dads were as well. They all worked for the multi Billion Dollar Company Grove Enterprises. My parents were such good friends with my friend's parents that they couldn't bare the thought of separating to different cities across the country in search of work. Our parents decided to move together to a different location, our fathers were engineers so they decided to move us all to Burbank, California. There were openings for the Aeronautical design industry. Lockheed had a huge operations facility there were they designed Military aircraft of all sorts. But to be part of the Aeronautical design team at Lockheed they would all have to go through a long training program, for them I could tell they thought it was worth it. The decision was final we were moving to California, architecture jobs were at an all time low but Aerospace stood strong. Our parents needed jobs and that was final factor. The year was 1995, I was 9 years old my Dad worked at Lockheed as did my friend's Dads. My mother was a secretary at Lockheed; she was good at organizing finances for any organization. Whether it was for Grove Enterprises or Lockheed Martin, She knew how to file papers and organize. Tim's Mom worked at a salon over near the beach and Jerry's Mother worked at Interim Healthcare as a regional manager for Southern California. My parents were finally doing well again which made me happy for sure. My world was very much normal for about 5 years until September 11, 2001 that day changed my feelings towards the Muslim community forever and from that point forward I knew my future carrier, the military I was 15 at the time of the attacks. Tim and Jeremy seemed to also show outrage, well everybody was angry. I spent a few years deciding what branch I wanted and by 2003 I knew I was going to be a United States Marine. Eventually Tim and Jeremy decided to follow me in the war on terror. Together we would be made Marines and we would die as Marines.
