Starter Sentence: "Waiting in the dark can be fun."

Waiting in the dark can be fun. At least, that's what Fingon thought. Maedhros, on the other hand, hated it. That was only one of the many things that were different about them. They had less in common than Feanor and Fingolfin for crying out loud and yet still managed to get along better than a set of twins. It didn't make sense to anyone, not even them, but they didn't question it. They were best friends and sometimes, people don't have to have anything in common to be best friends. Of course, there were those rumors floating around about them being more, to some they were true and to others they weren't. Both were right. How? Well, they weren't at first…

Findekano was sitting on a log, dipping his feet in the water and humming to himself. Telperion was waxing, but was currently hidden by the trees surrounding the secret little clearing. He chose this spot because of how dark it always was as Laurelin waned. He was so caught up in his web of thoughts that he didn't hear someone sneaking up behind him.

The someone shoved Findekano into the water, laughing as Findekano surfaced, spluttering.

"Maitimo!" He complained, paddling to the shore of the lake. "That wasn't funny!"

"You were looking hot." Maitimo grinned shamelessly.

Findekano, standing beside him on the shore now, grinned back. "You too." He said and pushed Maitimo, snorting as the red haired feanorian's arms flayed out, struggling to regain his balance and falling into the water with a 'splash' as he failed.

A wider grin split Findekano's face as he jumped in after his friend, tackling him and pinning him against one of the rocks.

Maitimo looked nervous and Findekano flushed bright red and backed out. As soon as he wasn't pinned, Maitimo swam under the water, circling Findekano and nibbling on his feet playfully.

"Maitimo, stop it!" Findekano laughed, kicking out.

Maitimo popped up above the water's surface, holding his lip, blood slowly dripping through his fingers.

"de' Toya!" Findekano cried. "Are you alright?"

Maitimo nodded. "But only if you kiss it better." He joked.

Findekano blinked. "Okay." He then kissed Maitimo's lip for a split second. When he pulled away, Maitimo was staring at him. "I was only joking." He whispered, but didn't press it any further.

Findekano dove under the water, shaking with laughter even while under and had to resurface quickly for air.

When he did, Maitimo had swum to the shore and was lounging on a rock.

Findekano joined him, every once and a while sending a sideways glance at his sopping wet best friend. He couldn't help it; the hanwe(male) just looked so adorable wet.

On what was probably the fiftieth glance, Maitimo turned his head. They locked eyes for a few seconds, then – as Findekano began to turn away, the beginnings of a blush forming on his cheeks – Maitimo grabbed Findekano's face with one hand and pressed his lips onto Findekano's.

Findekano just sat completely still, shocked, and didn't move until Maitimo tried to move away. Then he grabbed the back of Russandol's head and held Maitimo's lips against his, eagerly returning the kiss.

When they broke apart, Findekano wouldn't meet Maitimo's eyes and just placed his head on Russandol's shoulder and breathed in his scent.

"Kano…" Findekano sighed and raised his head to look at Maitimo.

"I'm sorry." He whispered, lowering his head again.

"Well, I'm not." Maitimo said forcefully and Findekano looked up at him, shocked. Next time he knew, Maitimo was kissing him again.

"I love you." He whispered into the kiss. "So much."
