Authors Notes: I have watched about 12 episodes of CSI Miami which don't include most of the episodes related to Marisol, her death and the revenge on the man responsible, so yes if I get things wrong, please, forgive me I'm human. This is extreamly short, I hope I got the voice right.

Eric Delko prided himself on knowing himself and being truthful to himself but lately when it came to Horatio Caine he found he was lying to himself on a fairly regular basis, ever since Marisol. It started so insignificantly that he could pretend that it didn't happen, a simple brush in the hallways, a gaze held a second too long, it was never anything that he had to accept as more. The talks and increasing intimacy had simply been due to the loss they shared. He had even had an excuse for their first kiss, when Horatio finally pushed against the nearest wall and claimed his mouth for all he was worth. He had been startled, that's why it took him so long to push his boss away, as for Horatio, the other man had been missing Marisol and lost control of his senses. Also he had not run away, he had never run away from anything in his life, he had occasionally been forced to retreat and that was all that was, and the fact that he didn't see Horatio for the next two days was not avoidance, he simply was a busy guy, and it had been easier to get assignment through Caleigh or Ryan. And he had not been jealous when Horatio was looking out for Ryan, the guy simply got under his skin. Oh man was he glad that Speed wasn't here he would have got a kick out of his friend running himself around in circles, this would have been before Caleigh dragged him and Alex into some scheme. Oh God he hoped that neither of the girls caught onto what was going on or he would be in trouble. Not that anything was going on, and he was not in a relationship with Horatio, he had finally run out of excuses but he wasn't ready to admit that yet. He just knew for the first time in a long time he didn't hurt anymore and that Marisol was probably smiling.
