Reality

My second Gabriel/Sam Fic.

The Trials were never attempted.

Dean and Cas were back from came too.

Lucifer was in the cage with Micheal.

Adam, Dean, Sam were living in the Bunker.

Metatron never came into power.

Gadreel was forgiven.

Raphael was gone. (Read: DEAD)

Heaven wasn't at war.

Everything seemed to be going good.

For everyone except for Sam.

Sam was heartbroken and his brothers couldn't figure out why. He wouldn't let them just couldn't let them know that he would never-could never get better. He stayed locked in his barely ate. he took showers, changed clothes. He put Enochian symbols on the door to keep Castiel out.

But One day something changed. Sam woke up because the bed was shifted, like somebody else was laying on it. He rolled over to see a shirtless Gabriel.

"Hey Sammykins" Gabriel smiled, head propped up on his elbow.

Sam inhaled sharply. That was the nickname that Gabriel used to call him. he'd grown fond of it. Just hearing his voice. it felt like his heart stopped beating, he couldn't think, he couldn't breathe.

Sam was so happy like nothing mattered anymore. He didn't know how, but Gabriel was back. He didn't know how or even if the angel could be back. He didn't care. He just didn't care anymore.

The corners of Sam's lips turned up slowly. Sam smiled. Sam hadn't smiled in months. Tears spilled from his eyes but he felt soft warm fingers brush the salty drops away. He couldn't help the sob-like noise that came out. It had just been stuck in his throat.

"I...I-" Sam stumbled over his words, trying to find something to say. Anything.

Sam was pulled into a hug which he quickly returned, scared that it was just another dream. If it was he never wanted it to end.

"Sam. Sammy, Baby. It's okay, it's not a dream, I'm real, I'm here, with you. I won't ever leave you again." Gabriel promised, then he pulled Sam's head up by his chin and kissed him hard. Sam kissed him back without question.
