My sweet sunflower,
I give you this letter in desperation of your acceptation of being mine. I know we haven't been on talking terms because of our bosses', but I'll make sure to do whatever I can to see that we can be together.
I love you,
Ivan Braginsky
Yao looked at the letter just given to him in annoyance. For many years the Russian man desperately tried to get Yao's attention. Yet, this was by far the most awkward way of asking. He tried talking, and in all means trying to force the Chinese to be his and China refused every single time.
But this was new. He did relies it'd been days that Russia even looked at him from what he noticed. He looked at the letter again reading it over and over thinking if this was a trick and why in the world would Russia like China in any way. True, he'd been there raising Russia any little way he could when he was a small country. He couldn't protect him from the bad things like he could with his siblings.
Russia's mind was childish but that was because of his history. China watched from the sidelines on how badly he was treated, from any and every other country trying to dominate him, from his bosses being extremely cruel to him to the point of almost destroying him. China hated seeing his neighbor's abuse, but he could help.
Now, Russia being older and the mistakes he made, it made everyone afraid of him. China too, though he knew the reason why he did what he did in the past. It wasn't his fault when his boss told him to attack the Baltics and just recently his sister. Russia still comes to his home drunk and teary eyed knowing that he wanted to take everything he did back and have a good relationship with friends and family. Russia was being controlled which no one but China understood.
He decided it was time to find out just why Russia wants him. He knocked on the door to the big house that stood looking abandoned in a sense. He heard some rustling until the door was unlocked and opened. The taller man looked at the other as his breathing hitched a little.
"H-hello, China. Why are you here? I thought you hated the cold" his voice sounded hurt. China looked at him and pushed through into the even colder house. He shivered as Russia locked the door a bit surprised at his neighbor close by.
"I came because of the letter, and how come you're not even talking to me anymore? I have feelings too!" China stopped surprised at what he said.
"E-eh, never mind what I said. I-I just worry sometimes. What are you planning on with asking me out like a heart struck boy, aru?"
"W-well, I thought you would like me back. You're the only country I like." Russia replied messing with the ends of his scarf, not making eye contact.
"I know that, but why give me a letter, what if anyone knew and told our bosses? I don't want you hurt again Yiwan!" his outburst made the other flinch. He's never seen that from him except when he was being yelled at by his bosses. He was worse than he thought.
"I-I'm sorry, Jao.." he said softly. The other sighed and moved closer to the other looking up and pulling his head closer to his.
"No, I should be sorry, aru. I've been meaning to say that for a long time now." He leaned them both together and kissed him softly.
He finally did it.
